Slimfast Shake Review

Slimfast Meal Replacement Shake Review Rating

was one of the original meal replacement shakes. I still remember their old commercials, where they talked about having a shake for breakfast, another one for lunch, and then a sensible dinner. But nostalgia aside, how do their shakes stack up to competition? Read my review and find out.

PRICE: A+

It costs $17 for 34 servings of SlimFast 3-2-1 shake, which is a pretty great deal. Seriously, that’s around 50 cents a shake. It leaves plenty of money left over to buy some almond milk, fresh strawberries, or whatever else you like to add to your shake.

TASTE: A

Slim Fast shakes come in four flavors: French Vanilla, Strawberry Supreme, Creamy Milk Chocolate, and Chocolate Royale. That’s right — two different chocolate flavors. But then, I’ve never been one to complain about too much chocolate. I went with Chocolate Royale. It tasted delicious, like a dark chocolate bar melted into shake form.

APPETITE BLOCKER: B-

As good as the taste was, I wish it kept me full longer. Too often, I found myself craving snacks before lunch or dinner. Sometimes I even wanted to have my next shake early. And I know it’s wrong to have my lunch shake just two hours after my breakfast one.

NUTRITIONAL VALUE: B-

The Slim-Fast Shake Mix has 200 calories per serving, which is decent for a meal replacement shake. And while the 10 grams of protein are nice, 22 grams of sugar just seems like overkill. I know they want it to taste good, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

SlimFast gets points for tasting great and having a price that won’t burn a hole through your pocketbook. But if you’re looking for a shake that will keep you full from one meal to the next, you might want to try something else.

I have used SlimFast and was very successful with my weight loss. I will say that the first few days you may be a little hungry, but if you can get through the first week, you will be VERY successful with your weight loss. The hunger will go away and lbs will begin to fall off. I believe the first few days of any meal replacement plan can be grueling as far as hunger goes because you were probably overeating a bit to begin with; therefore, your stomach was stretched, requiring more food to keep you full longer. Once your stomach gets used to less food, it will begin to shrink and, therefore, requiring less food to feel full longer. All I can say is if you can tough out the first few weeks of a meal replacement plan, you will be VERY successful. Also, I kept my weight off for 10 years after my first experience with SlimFast. You just have to slowly add meals back in and don’t over eat. I have recently had knee problems and have not been able to exercise as aggressively as I have all of my life, so I am on the SlimFast plan to keep from gaining weight. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the SlimFast plan and encourage anyone who is considering it to GO FOR IT!!! Best of Luck and Wishes!!! Melissa
