The Blendtec Designer Series Wildside is one sleek looking blender. From that smooth black finish to the fancy touchscreen, I wasn’t sure if you should blend things with it or make a phone call. Either way, before you lay down $450 for it, you’ll want to know if it’s worth the purchase. Here’s my review.
PERFORMANCE: A+
With a crazy strong 3 HP motor and 6 pre-set blend cycles, the Blendtec Wildside can tackle every piece of fruit, vegetable, and ice that you put into it. It’s a serious blender, so it won’t leave behind any food chunks. So there’s no worries there. With its wide jar opening and single blade, it makes it very easy to drop in more ingredients as you blend up your first batch. And it’s pretty easy to clean too. I guess the beauty of a touchscreen means you can just wipe up the main base when you’re done.
FEATURES: A
Again, it’s all about the touchscreen. It looks futuristic and is surprisingly functional — once you get the hang of it. What’s cool is that the digital display tells you how long before your blend is done. It really takes the thinking out of blending. If you’re looking for more of an automated blending system, this is the way to go. As a bonus, the machine comes with a recipe book with more than 230 recipes.
NOISE: C
This is a loud blender. It’s not quite motorcycle-in-the-alley loud, but it’s not that far off either. I guess that’s what comes with having such a powerful motor. Whatever the cause, I recommend earplugs.
DURABILITY: A
The Blendtec comes with a seven year warranty just in case something happens to it. Although I doubt you’ll need it. But from everything I’ve read, they will replace your blender if it’s necessary — but you may get charged for shipping.
The Blendtec Designer Series Wildside is a high quality blender that looks cooler than any blender has the right to look. But at the end of the day, it’s not about looks. It’s about quality. And this is one of the top machines out there if you’re willing to pay for it.
