I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about , so I thought it was about time that I try it out for myself. Here’s my review.
PRICE: A
You can buy Visalus shakes a la carte for $45. That gets you 30 servings, which comes to about $1.50 per meal. If you ask me, that’s a pretty great value in the meal replacement world. Or any world, for that matter. You can even find Visalus shakes for a little cheaper on Amazon (if this is the shake you’re after). So the overall cost of Visalus gets an A in my book.
TASTE: A
To me, taste is one of the most important factors in any shake. You want to be able to enjoy your meal, and that starts with the flavor. The Visalus original shake comes in a “Sweet Cream” flavor that’s actually pretty tasty. It has a slight vanilla flavor to it, which gives it a nice neutral flavor. The biggest plus is that it doesn’t have that weird, chalky after taste that you get with a lot of other meal replacement shakes. And since it’s already low in calories, you can always add fruit, vegetables, or any of the Visalus add-on flavors to give the shake an extra twist.
APPETITE BLOCKER: B+
If you’re using shakes as meal replacements, you want to make sure you’re drinking one that actually keeps you feeling full and suppresses your hunger. Visalus definitely does a good job in that department. I felt full for hours after drinking this shake. I’m assuming this was due to one of its ingredients, Fibersol, which helps keep you satiated. If you want to suppress your appetite even more, you have to buy Vi-Trim — Visalus’s hunger-blocker mix. That’s an additional cost, which is part of the reason why I gave this product a B+ instead of an A.
NUTRITIONAL VALUE: A+
The Visalus shake has a lot of good things going for it. It only has 90 calories per meal, which is pretty low for a shake mix. It covers 30% of your daily value for vitamins and minerals like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Zinc. It also has 12 grams of protein, which helps to control your appetite. Visalus also gets major points for being low in sodium and containing less than 1 gram of sugar.
Overall, Visalus is an effective meal replacement shake. It definitely lived up to the hype. Let me know if it did for you too.
I was never full on this shake. I’ll stick with my berry advocare shake.
The main key factor that makes ViSalus Vi Shape Shake powerful is the contents and ingredients. And the great thing is that the important and healthy ingredients won’t compromise the taste, so you can expect a shake that tastes like a cake mix.
I have used Visalus on an off for about a year and always with good results. The taste is what’s key for me and I usually will have one for breakfast another for lunch and then a sensible dinner. I use the flavor add ins or the extensive recipe app. I even add them to my own juice/veggie smoothies. As someone who was once anemic this also helped my iron count. I have no complaints about these shakes. The only reason I go on an off maybe every 3 mths or so is because I eventually want to eat food again after hitting my weight loss goals. But thats my fault, not the shakes. Just wanted to share a positive experience, given the other reviews.
These shakes left me wanting. I actually gained weight while drinking these because I was starved!
That’s ur metabolism working, so it actually was working,
To give this product any decent rating shows that you know absolutely nothing about meal replacement or nutrition. These shakes are complete crap and I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. At best its a supplement but its not even remotely close to a replacement.
Visalus shakes are sweetened with sucralose which is just being noticed to lead to diabetes and weight gain among other things. Giving them an A+ clearly shows you don’t do your research.
Got some shake samples from a rep. Did not satisfy my hunger at all. Went by the plan for 4 days and I gained 3 lbs. I do like the Neuro mix for your water. It does exactly what is says it suppose to do!
One thing that needs to be mentioned – for those who do not trust artificial sweeteners like saccharine, Equal, or Splenda, the ViSalus product uses sucralose as a sweetener, per their ingredient list.
By comparison, Shakeology’s label uses a blend of, as they say, non-GMO fructose and stevia (by many accounts, the best non-sugar sweetener).
Given Shakeology’s price, I will still try the ViSalus – but I will also look at GNC, at their basic soy and whey protein products, carefully (the advantage of GNC is that one can actually go to a store and ask questions, as well as order online or pick up same day in store, something not possible with Shakeology or ViSalus.
I may try making my own drink supplement, using either a plain whey or soy protein, or both (one of ViSalus’ selling points, by the way), some very finely shredded vegetables (carrots come immediately to mind), and possibly some uncooked oats (more fiber) – if I can get a decent taste out of one…
I was just curious if you’ve had the change to try Visalus and what you thought of it? I’ve been doing it for about 3 months and within the first 3 weeks I had lost the last 10 lbs I was struggling with after having my daughter. Also, there are tons of recipes online that contain vegetables but leave the shakes still tasting like cake.
Having read this I thought it was very enlightening.
I appreciate you finding the time and effort to put this short
article together. I once again find myself spending way too much time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
Glad you enjoyed the site!
